Little Lion

Ethan's second Halloween has came and went successfully. He loved putting on his constume on and even brought it to me to put on him way before Halloween. He loves posing for pictures and he had Johnny laughing so hard when we told him to stand by the wall to get his picture taken and he runs and stands against the wall and poses. Grandma taught him that! She takes multiple pictures a day and he is an expert now. We went down a few streets trick or treating and he caught on quickly. He loved seeing all the other kids dressed up and was "talking" to them as he walked by. He is becoming such a little man and those baby years and slipping away so quickly. I am happy/sad to see the toddler years arrive although he will always be my baby. What a joy to be a mom. To have that incredible experience of responsibility and to nurture and raise your child. It's awesome. I look forward to him growing up and seeing every stage that he goes through. He is amazing to me and I am so glad that he chose me to be his mama!

Lots of changes for little Ethan. He started walking at the end of May and it took him a couple weeks to master it but he is running now. Crawling is a thing of the past! He is everywhere and into everything! But I guess it has helped me lose even more of any baby weight I was carrying because I keep steadily losing more weight. So I can't complain ;) He is just too smart sometimes. Some of the things he does just amazes me. I have to just basically hold his clothes and he puts him arms in the holes of his shirt on his own and steps into his shorts or pants. Too smart! I say "arms up" and the shirt comes off easily. So yes, dressing and undressing are too easy! He is saying more and more sounds. Says "dada" and says his "v's" and "b's" and "m's". Not really any words yet but I'm sure the words aren't far away because he is "talking" more and more everyday with sounds. Discovering his voice I guess ;) He loves all kinds of food now. Now that he has more teeth it makes it a lot easier. He has 10 teeth now and I just felt one of his 1st year molars coming through. That explains his fussy week he had. Poor baby. It definitely hurt him when he tried to sleep because no one has gotten much sleep for the past week ;) He loves applesauce, rice, potatoes, chicken, waffles and the usual snacks of anything graham cracker and he loves cinnamon. We discovered that he has a milk allergy although I dont think it's a real bad one unless he has a large amount of a milk product. If he gets anything with liquid milk, he gets a rash around his mouth and starts sneezing a lot. So no more of that. His doctor thinks that he will outgrow it by the age of 2 or 3. So hopefully by the time he is 2! But for now he still gets ice cream but Soy ice cream instead. So I have found out where they sell all of the soy products that he can enjoy. We love him so very much and are amazed by him everyday. He smile lights up my day! I will try to keep updated on this blog more often. I have been real bad at updating lately!!

Our little Boy

I can't believe that our little boy is seventeen months old already. He has brought us so much joy and loads of happiness. I would like to say that he walks all over now. He's trying to talk now and he is pretty good with letting us know what he wants. We love Ethan very much and we are very grateful to have him in our lives. I love seeing his smile each day and hearing the laughter that feels our home. We have been blessed!

My grandma got this frog pillow for me and it's really soft.
I love grandma, she loves me.

My Grandma says she loves me "Bigger than the skies"

Our little Boy loves to read books

Ethan loves his books. He loves to be read to and will flip through the pages and point to the pictures. This little book that he has in his little hands right now is "The Creation". And check out his pajamas, he loves Handy Manny.

Ethan being sneaky and getting into trouble ;) He loves to get behind the end table and hang out and play with his toys. But how can you resist this face? He is sneaky but oh so sweet!

New Easter Outfit

Can you tell that he is very proud of his new outfit? Yes he is a poser for the camera. He looks adorable! This is just a preview of his outfit. I still have to get the shirt for underneath the jacket. I will post a new pic then.

Teething Toddler

The joys of a teething toddler. I feel so sorry for him! I really can't imagine what it feels like but it looks like he is in a lot of pain. So yes we have stock in Orajel (which really doesn't touch it) and Motrin. Poor baby! I can tell that he is saying "thanks mama!" as soon as I put it on or give it to him or at least I can tell he is saying that by the way he looks at me! It's a really good thing that they don't remember this time in their lives! My big brother had a tee shirt when he was a baby that said "Teething is the Pits". Boy isn't that true! Ethan now has 3 teeth on top and 3 on the bottom. He is finally able to chew things easier. He mastered the Gerber Puffs and gradually eating more things that have more texture. I guess he is just taking his time. He's a goofy boy and we laugh at him all the time at the things that he does. I can't believe how smart he is and how much fun he is to have in our family. I couldn't have asked for a better boy to have. He was definitely worth the wait!

The Hills starts tonight!

Yes I know, I am going on 28 and love "The Hills" on MTV. This is definitely a show for the teenie boppers out there but is one show that I can't seem to miss on Monday nights. It's one of those things that you aren't sure why you are watching it but can't seem to stop. So yes I am watching it and I have Evan hooked as well. So he was excited to see what Spencer and Heidi are up to tonight. Haha.
Our little man has discovered that he can shake his booty and bounce up and down with music on. He still directs the music as he is doing this. He's a silly boy. Well you will probably notice that all my posts are pretty much about Ethan as he is my life! And so much fun to write about!! Until next time........

Our Little Director

Wanted to share that we have a lover of music. His name is Ethan! I always knew that he loved music from the day he was born because whenever he was crying in the car and music would come on, he would stop. And he loves the music that his daddy likes which is not always the most recent kind! Well, now when he hears music, he will move his hands like he is directing music. He is so funny! He knows that he is doing something that people are laughing about because he is smiling or sticking his tongue out the whole time he is doing it. He melts my heart that is for sure. One of his smiles will instantly brighten my day. I'll have to get it on video before he stops doing it. This might just be a phase and I don't want to miss it!

Ethan Turned 1!!

The Big Day arrived. Our little Ethan turned 1! It was bittersweet as I know that he is growing a little bigger everyday but I will miss having my little baby even though is still is one! He is truly a joy to us. I love watching him discover new things, get into everything, his smile, laugh and hugs! I love him beyond words. I cherish everyday that he has been with us and look forward to each new day. He had fun with his cake although he didn't eat much of it as soon as he realized that the frosting was about to go in his eye when he rubbed it. So that was the end of that. He loved opening his presents and discovering what was inside. We love him so much and I am so grateful that he chose us as his parents. What a gift he is!!!

About Me

I am a stay at home mom working only a few hours a week which I love. I love to be home with Ethan and take care of him. He is our little miracle! Evan and I have been married going on 8 years and are living in Iowa for now. We are thankful for everything we enjoy especially our newest member of our family who just turned 1!

See my teeth??
